Harper's attack on the opposition

Canadians are looking to their government for leadership, for putting the country first, for a stimulus package to get the economy moving again, and instead we're getting the worst of this government, the worst of Stephen Harper's aggressive partisanship, the worst of what makes Canadians shake their heads about politics.

There's an outcry building about this. Now is not the time for partisan fun and games. The government is going to have to see reason. I simply cannot believe that Stephen Harper intends to plunge this country into a constitutional crisis and a second election in two months over this. It makes no sense, and I'm calling on him to assert his authority, act like a Prime Minister and rein his Finance Minister in and drop this scheme to force an election in the midst of an economic crisis.
