Many film makers have been in touch with me about the Harperites' plan to limit the granting of film tax credits to those movies that meet the approval of a small, Harper appointed committee.

And well known political evangelists are taking credit for it, and pleased that Ottawa is "listening".

This is all part of the Bushification of Ottawa. The Harperites are the Republican Farm Team. What we've seen in Washington is what we'll get in Ottawa.

The Harperite material being distributed in Toronto Centre speaks to this point. Classic drive by smears on Stephane Dion, complete with doctored quotes. It's the new propaganda of the Canadian Right.

Whacking the Canadian film industry with a new Committee of Righteousness is bad for movies and bad for business. The industry is already struggling with a high dollar and intensified competition. But the Harperites don't care about that. They have a constituency to feed.
So their narrow ideology trumps imagination, jobs, and freedom of expression.

Don't just get angry. Vote Liberal on March 17th !
